We have been delighted to be able to host the Dorcas Dress Project's Abingdon local sewing hub during the spring and summer of 2025.

The project has now paused for the summer break, and will restart in September in a new location.

From Thursday 18th September 2025, the hub will meet at the 7th Abingdon Air Scouts hut, on Dalton Barracks, Shippon, 9.30 - 11.30 am. Access is from Barrow Road (car boot sale turning).

The project supports people out of situations of financial hardship by providing skills training, resources and pastoral care, both in the UK and overseas.
The local hubs work to bring people from different backgrounds together. They mend, alter and make clothes, providing the opportunity for people to: use their sewing machines, or bring their own; and complete their own sewing projects or engage with the topic of the week. 

Volunteers from local churches are needed to support the project.
