Page 1 of 2 Since March 2007 there has been a new impressive building across the car park from the Peachcroft shopping centre. This is the Peachcroft Christian Centre. The original building was built in 1987 when the Peachcroft estate was much smaller. Since then, toddler groups, an over 55's group, children's holiday clubs, a café-style youth club, music groups and the Women's Institute have used it and it has been a Polling Station. All this in addition to being home for a growing Sunday congregation of Christians who come together to pray, sing, learn, receive encouragement and worship God. In short, the Christian Centre had outgrown its capacity. We had believed for some years that God was calling us to extend the building so that his church in the estate could grow. Now, Peachcroft has a fantastic new facility that has taken a year to build. The new hall seats over 150 and is designed for great acoustics with lighting and audio equipment - making it a good venue for concerts or conferences. With the large screen, we have regular cinema nights. A fitted kitchen has excellent equipment. There is a crèche and safe garden play area and a quiet room for those who want to get away from it all, think or maybe chat with a trained listener or counsellor. The new building is an ideal place in which to get married and has a convenient car park outside the door. Just browse this website to see how much use is made of it. |
